Healing Childhood Hurts Weeken Retreat
Sponsored by The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart
MAY 4-6
During this weekend at the Bishop Lane Retreat Center , 7708 East McGregor Rd, in Rockford, the participant will explore the stages of her/his childhood development. Talks, guided reflection, and small group sharing will shed light on how unhealthy aspects of living may have their roots in childhood experiences, and need no longer dictate one’s behavior. Healing Childhood Hurts is structured to provide a safe, nonpressured environment, where a participant may view the pain of past experiences, and come to appreciate the blessing of lovingly carrying the child within. Everyone is welcome. The First Friday Club of Chicago Welcomes Chris Kennedy
MAY 4, NOON
Theme: “Feeding the Human Hunger." Rather unconsciously we regularly feed ourselves to overcome being hungry. It is a daily routine. Yet not all hungers can be fed so quickly and efficiently. The hunger to love and be loved, the hunger for self-worth and dignity, the hunger for meaningful work, and the hunger for freedom and safety are not always realized.
Christopher Kennedy, President of Merchandise Mart Properties, has worked to create hundreds of new jobs and economic opportunities by bringing manufacturers and retailers together, and The Mart has become one of Illinois's largest attractor of new business. He also led The Mart's efforts to be a leader and innovator in green practices.
