Chicago Chamber Choir, Burst into Spring St. Matthias Sanctuary

April 4, 7:30pm

Why are singers so passionate about their art? Why does singing move us like no other form of expression? This program takes us on a journey that explores the connection of vocal art and the human spirit. Humorous, powerful, and inspirational, this concert features the music of J.S. Bach, Leonard Bernstein, Kirke Mechem, Vincent Youmans, and many others. This event is FREE, so don’t miss out!

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would like to thank the St. Matthias & Queen of Angels school families, parishioners & Scouts that contributed items and financial gifts for the Lenten Food Drive. Because of your generous Lenten sacrifice we were able to provide nearly 160 neighbor individuals & combined families with Paper goods, personal care items & cleaning supplies that they are not able to purchase with their LINK food stamp cards. We were also able to improve the nutrition of those in need by providing fresh fruit & vegetables dry & canned goods, along with gift certificates to Aldi for them to purchase protein of their choice for their holiday meal. Cases of left over non perishables were passed along to Transfiguration of Our Lord parish pantry to replenish their supply that serves this community all year long. Several cases of left over produce were passed along to the Common Pantry that serves the south end of our neighborhood.

Stitch In Time Gala Raises More Than $34,000!

Many, many thanks to everyone who supported the Stitch In Time Gala on February 23. The event at the Dank Haus was beautiful, and two hundred school families, parishioners and other supporters had a lovely evening celebrating the school’s 125th anniversary. Some silent auction items are still open, and our goal is to make it to $35,000. There are a handful of spots left at our popular grown-up, children and family parties & activities. Sign up at https://stmatthiasschool.schoolauction.net/stitchinttime online_auction/browse, to make our fundraising an even bigger success (and have a great time doing it)!
