Dear Families,
Welcome to the St. Matthias Religious Education Program! We are happy to have you. As parents, we are charged with forming our children in our faith. We took on this great endeavor when we had our children baptized. We are pleased to partner with you on this journey of faith..
The Religious Education Program/CCD is a continuous program from first through eighth grades. We strongly encourage participation throughout the entirety of the elementary years, but welcome children at any point. Included in the program at age appropriate times is preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. Weekly mass attendance is a necessary part of the program and a foundation for our lives as Catholics.
Classes for the 2013-2014 school year begin on Sunday, September 8th with a whole family session in the gym. Time is tbd and will be publicized as we get closer to that day. Tuition is expected in full at the time of registration. The tuition rates for 2013-2014 are as follows: 1 child/$150, 2 children/$275, 3 children/$375. There will be a $50 late fee applied for registrations received after September 1st – please register early!

SACRAMENTAL INFORMATION:
First Reconciliation and First Communion are available to students who are second grade and older and who have attended at least 2 years of Religious Education. Classes for these sacraments take place separate from regular CCD. Classes begin in November and continue through the end of the year.
Confirmation is a consecutive 2-year program, beginning no earlier than 7th grade. All students are expected to complete the 2-year process, regardless of when they begin classes.
